A NOTE ON THE TRIVIALITY OF THE BOHR-COMPACTIFICATION OF LIE GROUPS

Abstract


We determine a class of connected Lie groups for which the triviality of the Bohr-compactification is equivalent to the triviality of the Bohr-compactification of the simply connected covering group. We derive from these results some information on the structure of the Bohr-compactification of some class of connected topological groups.
