My teaching and mentoring activities focus on the development of critical skills. Below are some of the subjects I currently teach:
is an optional master-level course that focuses on creating accessible websites that adapt to various devices and screen sizes. The course highlights the importance of content, considering both structural design and the overall message conveyed to users.
explores fundamental concepts, including process management, memory management, and file systems, through both theoretical and practical approaches. It highlights the influence of the Unix philosophy on system design and user interaction.
assists students in navigating the essential steps of planning, researching, writing, and defending their bachelor theses, while ensuring adherence to academic standards.
In addition to my teaching responsibilities, I am involved in coordination and tutoring activities. For details regarding my availability, please refer to my calendar.
My past research encompasses knowledge discovery, data visualization, web mining, e-learning, and networking. I am currently focusing on the following topics:
involves identifying the author of a text through stylistic analysis and linguistic features, employing artificial intelligence techniques to uncover unique patterns. The aim is to leverage mathematical instruments for improved author identification.
is the process of categorizing texts into predefined groups based on their features by employing ML algorithms and NLP techniques. This part of research aims to enhance classification accuracy through the application of mathematical models.
involves identifying instances of copied or closely paraphrased content within texts. This endeavor is in the initial phases and the intention is to develop a visual representation that highlights variations in writing styles across different sections.
Students with strong mathematical skills are encouraged to collaborate on these research projects. Your expertise can enhance the progress in these areas.
My complete list of publications can be found on Google Scholar, ResearchGate, and ACADEMIA (under the names SandaDragos and SandaMariaAvram).

I am an associate professor in the Department of Computer Science at Babeș-Bolyai University, within the Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science.
My current research focuses on authorship attribution through artificial intelligence and stylometry, aiming to achieve and surpass AI-based results through mathematical approaches.
With over 25 years of teaching experience, I have conducted lectures, seminars, and laboratories on 15 topics across three languages. My approach to teaching prioritizes effective communication and ethics.
I have also participated in various projects for the community and other research initiatives aimed at enhancing academic and social engagement.
Beyond academia, I sometimes engage in drawing and painting, writing poetry, communication, and, most importantly, meditation, as tools for self-investigation and exploration.
