Profesorul Gh. Moroşanu de la Central European University, Budapesta, va ţine la facultatea noastră câteva cursuri legate de subiectul semigupurilor de operatori şi aplicaţii ale acestora. Adresăm invitaţia de a participa în special studenţilor de la masterat şi doctorat, dar şi toţi acelora care sunt interesaţi de acest subiect. Lecţiile vor avea loc în zilele de marţi 5 mai 2015 de la ora 10.00 şi miercuri 6 mai 2015 de la ora 17.00 în sala e din clădirea Mathematicum. Durata fiecărei lecţii este de 3 ore.

Semigroups of Linear Operators and Applications

Abstract

An introduction to the theory of linear operator semigroups will be presented. A special attention will be paid to strongly continuous semigroups, and in particular to the Hille-Yosida generation theorem which is the central result of the theory. This will provide us with a method to solve initial-boundary value problems associated with parabolic and hyperbolic partial differential equations. Some examples involving the heat equation, wave equation, etc. will be discussed in detail to illustrate the theoretical results.
