Dear Students,

WorldQuant invites you to attend a hands-on training session in Nicolae Iorga amphitheatre (Babeș-Bolyai University Main Building, Kogalniceanu Street, no.1, first floor) from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm (Bucharest local time). During this free event, you will learn the basics of quantitative finance, and how to apply your quantitative or financial skills in this environment. WorldQuant, a global quantitative asset management firm with an office in Bucharest, will conduct this session and introduce a competition called the Cluj Alphathon which will begin on November 19, 2018, just after the training session. Please bring your laptop with you!

While this event is open to all students and alumni of Universitatea Babeș-Bolyai Cluj-Napoca, we are inviting you personally because your field of study may be a very good match to the attributes we are seeking. Successful quant finance candidates often come from various STEM programs, or Finance/Economics.

In this session and the subsequent competition we aim to bring together current and former students to interact, discuss and have a hands-on learning approach to quant finance. You will get a glimpse of the quantitative finance domain and analysis tools that will help you get started on building your own predictive mathematical models, which we call alphas.
