Information for candidates for the admission exam 2025, bachelor’s level
Starting on November 8, 2024, candidates who want to apply for the entrance exam on bachelor’s level in the Mathematics discipline can prepare with the help of the collection of problems developed by the Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science of the Babeș-Bolyai University in Cluj-Napoca.
The collection contains almost 1200 problems, containing practice grids for each sub-chapter in the syllabus, all topics from the 2021–2024 UBB admission exam and the BBU Math-Computer Science competition, as well as 10 practice tests modeled after the entrance exam. For all problems, the collection contains both answers and complete solutions.
The initiative and the main effort to create this volume are due to the following students: Rareș-Andrei Cotoi, Cristian-Emanuel Crețu, Tudor-Luca Crețu, Mara Ielciu, Ariana Ilieș, Patricia-Ariana Manciu (IE II), and Rareș Răhăian (Mathematics III). Under the coordination of Lect. Dr. Mihai Nechita, they proposed problems, drafted solutions, and edited the material with the support of the Department of Mathematics and the admissions committee on bachelor’s level, which was lead by Conf. Dr. Szilárd András and formed by Conf. Dr. Tiberiu Trif (Mathematical Analysis), Lect. Dr. Andor Lukács (Algebra), and Lect. Dr. Ildikó Mezei (Geometry and Trigonometry).
We thank all the teachers and students who contributed to the material by proposing problems, writing solutions, and making corrections.
We send special thanks for the help given to Prof. Dr. Andrei Mărcuș (director, Department of Mathematics), Conf. Dr. Marcel Şerban (dean), and Prof. Dr. Adrian Petrusel (vice-rector).
You can download the collection for free in PDF format below and order it in physical format from the Babeş-Bolyai University Bookstore.
We also want to let you know that we are preparing a collection specifically for the Computer Science discipline, which we plan to launch in the coming months.
We wish the candidates the best of luck in their preparation for the admission exam and hope to meet as many of them as possible in the halls of the Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science!
