EIT ICT Labs Outreach: A New Link Between Budapest and Cluj-Napoca
A conference entitled „EIT ICT Labs Outreach: A New Link Between Budapest and Cluj-Napoca”, co-organized by EIT ICT Labs Budapest and the Babeș-Bolyai University, will take place in Cluj-Napoca on 29 November 2013.
The event on November 29 introduces the EIT ICT Labs to the ICT sector in Cluj-Napoca, presents a successful start-up initiative of a EIT ICT Labs student, and offers the opportunity for the representatives of the Babeș-Bolyai University and Cluj Cluster IT to give an overview of the possible cooperation with the EIT ICT Labs.
EIT ICT Labs is the Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) Knowledge and Innovation Community (KIC) of the European Institute of Innovation & Technology (EIT). The mission of EIT ICT Labs is to drive European leadership in ICT innovation by linking education, research and business together. EIT ICT Labs Budapest is the only EIT ICT Labs associate partner located in the Central and Eastern European region.
The Outreach Programme focuses on developing fruitful partnerships with EU countries not directly connected to the EIT ICT Labs network. The program activates local start-ups and links local professors, researchers and students to EIT ICT Labs related innovation projects and contests.
We believe that the programme can answer some of the challenges of the ICT companies in Cluj-Napoca. Its goal is to provide well trained ICT human resource for the local ecosystem, as well as to help the ecosystem transfer its business profile from outsource programming to local innovation. The programme aims at increasing the number of young professionals that have both an excellent ICT skills and a bright entrepreneurial mindset.
