A research project in Applied Mathematics of 1.3 million euros, financed by PNRR, is being implemented at UBB
Dr. Calin Martin (University of Vienna) won and is implementing the project “Nonlinear Studies of Stratified Oceanic and Atmospheric Flows” at UBB.
The title of the project is “Nonlinear Studies of Stratified Oceanic and Atmospheric Flows” and it is
funded by the European Union under the Next Generation EU funding scheme within the National Recovery and Resilience Plan of Romania.
The above-named project addresses drawbacks in the current understanding of stratified rotational atmospheric and ocean flows from the perspective of the nonlinear governing equations and of the associated boundary conditions. Emphasis will be placed on the derivation (and the subsequent analysis) of exact solutions concerning the propagation of surface and internal waves in two- and three-dimensional stratified multi-layer flows with vorticity.
