Vacancy description: Junior Software Developer

As a junior software developer at TBA you will be trained to work on the back end of our CONTORLS product. CONTROLS is a model of all the components of a container terminal including cranes, yard equipment and rail interface. As a junior software developer you will get to work on a number of challenging problems. Your learning track will show a good balance between training on the job and working independently.

CONTROLS is developed in Java and consists of a number of standard components. However, as no terminal is the same the product has to be configured in a unique way for each customer. You work in a small team, assigned to work on one or several of the CONTORLS modules. Examples are: the GUI, the routing component, or the module that controls various equipments. Because many terminals are also in continuous development, you will have to develop a working knowledge of their functionality and technical specifications.

Over the course of the next few years, we expect you to grow into an experienced software developer that actively contributes to the further development of our product. Our customers have high demands on our product’s stability, scalability and performance. Your analytical skills, ability to work well with others and creativity will help us meet all these demands.

Our ideal candidate for the position of Junior Software Developer

Academic starter
Programming experience in Java, C++, .Net (experience with Eclipse, CVS and UML is a plus)
Affinity with logistics
Preference to work in a team environment
Good knowledge of English, both written and verbally
