Calendar, required documents, and registration procedure for the master’s examinations in July 2025
This procedure is intended for students wishing to take the master’s exam in the July 2025 session.
- Turnitin will be used to verify the similarity of the master’s thesis:
- The group responsible will be contacted to receive access to the Turnitin software;
- The similarity test of the master’s thesis will be conducted using Turnitin without applying any filter;
- If the similarity index exceeds 20% for valid reasons (e.g., bibliography, published article), filters are set with the scientific coordinator, and a similarity report is generated.
- Students ensure timely access to the https://www.cs.ubbcluj.ro/apps/lucrari platform, including the coordinating professor’s name.
- Students must upload to the https://www.cs.ubbcluj.ro/apps/lucrari platform by June 16, 2025, at 8:00 a.m. The following information:
- The final version of the paper in PDF format, together with the abstract in English, integrated immediately after the title page;
- A ZIP archive containing the application (if applicable) and Annex 5 (Declaration of Authenticity of the thesis);
- Between June 16-20, 2025, at 2:00 PM, the secretaries of the master’s committees will verify the master’s thesis, test its similarity using Turnitin without any filter, and send the resolution to the thesis coordinator.
- Between June 20, 2025, 2:00 PM – June 24, 2025, 12:00 PM, thesis coordinators will give their approval for the defense; students whose theses have not received the teacher’s approval by this date/time will not be accepted for registration for the final exam.
- From June 18 to 24, 2025, graduates can register for the master’s exam by uploading scanned documents at the following address: https://inscrieri.ubbcluj.ro/ifs/. The master’s exam application will be validated after June 25, 2025, when the coordinating faculty member accepts it. If the teaching staff’s agreement is not obtained, the application for the bachelor’s exam will be refused.
To register for the master’s exam, the documents need to be scanned into a single PDF file. (Please concatenate all files into a single PDF file named in the format “Last Name Initial Parent First Name.pdf” – e.g., “POPESCU I. - Birth certificate – scanned copy in pdf format;
- Passport – for foreign citizens;
- Bachelor’s degree diploma and transcript/supplement to diploma (for diplomas with transcript/supplement to diploma) or its equivalent;
- Baccalaureate diploma and transcript (for diplomas accompanied by a transcript) or its equivalent – for graduates from universities other than UBB.
- High school transcript – scanned copy in pdf format;
- The document that allowed access to studies, in case of foreign citizens
- Standard application form – after completion list, sign and send in pdf format;
For older graduating classes, MA students are requested to submit the following scanned documents in PDF format as a single file when sending the application for the dissertation exam (please concatenate all files into a single PDF file named in the format “Last Name Initial Parent First Name.pdf” – e.g., “POPESCU I. IOAN-VASILE.pdf” and upload this document in the “Application” field on the registration platform):
- Birth certificate – scanned copy in pdf format.
- Passport – for foreign citizens;
- Bachelor’s degree diploma and transcript/supplement to diploma (for diplomas with transcript/supplement to diploma) or its equivalent;
- Baccalaureate diploma and transcript (for diplomas accompanied by a transcript) or its equivalent – for graduates from universities other than UBB.
- High school transcript – scanned copy in pdf format;
- The document that allowed access to studies, in case of foreign citizens
- Standard application form – after completion list, sign and send in pdf format;
- Proof of payment of the fee for those who are at the third presentation to the dissertation exam or graduates of the classes 2022 and earlier;
- On June 28, 2025, information on the calendar of the master’s exam will be posted.
- On July 1-2, 2025, the master’s students attend the face-to-face presentation and defense of their theses.
NOTE: The Faculty Council reserves the right to make the calendar for conducting the master’s examination compatible with subsequent regulations that may occur.
