Dr. Gheorghe Moroşanu, a budapesti Közép-európai Egyetem professzora néhány előadást tart karunkon az operátor-félcsoportokról és ezek alkalmazásáról. Elsősorban a magiszteri hallgatókat és a doktoranduszokat szólítjuk meg, de várjuk mindazokat, akiket érdekel ez a téma. Az előadásokra 2015. május 5-én, kedden 10:00 órától, és május 6-án, szerdán 17:00 órától kerül sor a Mathematicum „e” termében. Egy előadás időtartama 3 óra.

Semigroups of Linear Operators and Applications

Abstract

An introduction to the theory of linear operator semigroups will be presented. A special attention will be paid to strongly continuous semigroups, and in particular to the Hille-Yosida generation theorem which is the central result of the theory. This will provide us with a method to solve initial-boundary value problems associated with parabolic and hyperbolic partial differential equations. Some examples involving the heat equation, wave equation, etc. will be discussed in detail to illustrate the theoretical results.
