Quantum computing

Abstract: The presentation will be a general overview of quantum technologies, their importance and current state-of-the-art. Two topics of interest are quantum computation and quantum communications. Due to the threat of a future „quantum apocalypse”, I will focus on quantum communications and discuss how we can mitigate the risks posed by a quantum computer.

Dr. Radu Ionicioiu is Senior Researcher I, Department of Theoretical Physics, Horia Hulubei National Institute of Physics and Nuclear Engineering (IFIN-HH). He is member of the Strategic Advisory Board (SAB), Quantum Flagship and he coordinated the QUTECH-RO project, Developing quantum information and quantum technologies in Romania, 1.13 M€, UEFISCDI.
